- TRAFFIC RULES -

Below are rules which must be abided by everyone, either in cars, on bikes, walking, running or stumbling. these are in the interest of your safety and those around you.  Please be respectful of each other.

​

  • Always obey traffic wardens, security, police and staff directions. Failure to do so will result in your immediate departure from the event.

  • No Driving in ANY of campsites or event grounds after 5pm.

  • Vehicles in the camp grounds must either meet Chopped rules of entry as outlined above, or be a legally registered vehicle (motorbikes included).

  • Strictly 5km/h speed limit in all areas (walking pace) where driving is authorised.

  • Zero tolerance rule on speeding or dangerous driving, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.

  • For the safety of all people, the only vehicles that should be moving around in the during the event are:

    • persons that are entering or leaving the venue 

    • persons moving their approved vehicle to or from the show 'n' Shine arena or drag strip

IT'S ALL PRETTY SIMPLE ROLL IN FOR SOME FUN FROM 9AM ANY DAY. STAY FOR AN HOUR OR STAY FOR THE DAY, JUST ROLL OUT BY 1AM AND YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS

  • Always obey traffic wardens, security and staff directions. 

  • TRACK SPECTATING AREA CLEARLY MARKED

  • GET AMONGST IT AND HAVE FUN

  • NO ANIMALS // DOGS-CATS-PARROTS NONE OF THEM

 
 

PARTICIPANTS RULES

IF YOU HAVE A VEHICLE OR A BIKE AND ARE JUST IN FOR THE DAY THEN THAT IS ALL GOOD

  • PRE-REGISTED YOUR VEHICLE BEFORE THE EVENT (IT CAN BE DONE AT THE GATE BUT IT DOES SLOW DOWN THE EVENT)

  • Always obey traffic wardens, security and staff directions. 

  • IF YOU ARE IN FOR THE SHOW'N'SHINE - READ AND AHDEAR TO THOSE RULES

  • IF YOU ARE IN FOR THE DIRT DRAGS - READ AND AHDEAR TO THOSE RULES

  • NO ANIMALS // DOGS-CATS-PARROTS NONE OF THEM

- CAMPING -

GATES OPEN 9AM FRIDAY OCTOBER 4TH TO EVENT AND CAMPGROUNDS.

EVENT OFFICIALLY CLOSES AT 3PM SUNDAY OCTOBER 6TH, CAMPGROUNDS MUST BE VACATED BY 5PM SUNDAY 6TH WITHOUT EXCEPTION.

  • vehicles will be directed into camping spaces by chopped staff

  • PATRONS WILL BE PLACED IN ORDER OF ARRIVAL TO KEEP THING SPACED AND ORGANISED CORRECTLY

​

  • IF YOU HAVE A CREW THAT WANTS TO CAMP TOGETHER THEN ARRIVE TOGETHER. SET A MEETING POINT IN TOWN OR A COUPLE OF KILOMETRES AWAY FROM THE FESTIVAL TO ROLL AS A CREW

​

  • THE MAJORITY OF CAMP AREAS Cars & Tents Are Seperate //DON'T FREAK OUT IT'S SIMPLE AND IT WORKS (ASK SOMEONE WHOS BEEN TO THE LAST 2 EVENTS). Chopped wants to keep everyone as safe as possible. MOST campgrounds are now car AND BIKE. there are lots of small campgrounds that you park on the edge of, you will only have to drag you stuff a few meters and can easily keep your valuables locked away right near you. Also if you are a Camper, Bus, Caravan, 4WD with roof tent etc that's all good, we have a dedicated campground for you all, IF YOU ARE DIRECTED TO THIS SPACE, EVEN IF YOU ARE PART OF A CREW YOU MUS SET UP IN THIS AREA

  • No cars in the campground is to stop people driving over tents and killing each other, never happed AT CHOPPED but happens every year at festivals

​

  • NO ANIMALS // DOGS-CATS-PARROTS NONE OF THEM

  • Campgrounds are unpowered

​

  • lighting towers are located throughout for visibility & access

​​

  • security WILL BE 24/7 patrolling THE campgrounds & event arena

​

  • Fires must be contained within a steel unit 1m across max - you are to take all fire WASTE AND MATERIALS home with you 

​​

  • male / female showers and toilets ARE LOCATED WITHIN the campgrounds and event arenas

​

  • drinking water stations located throughout

​

  • Please refer to the site map for further campground details

  • Be RESPONSIBLE - be responsible for yourself, your friends and all others around you. Do not forget that there are a lot of people at Chopped and everyone is there to have fun. Persons that are being unsafe, aggressive, dangerous or out of line in general will be removed.
     

  • DRINK RESPONSIBLY- Please ensure that you drink responsibly while at Chopped, look after your friends and family and ensure that you do not over consume. If you are refused service at our bars due to intoxication please respect our stance, take a break and drink plenty of water.
     

  • Patrons are encouraged to report dangerous behaviour to festival staff. Any persons behaving dangerously will receive a warning from security staff. If the patron continues to behave in this manner the patron will be evicted in a safe and timely manner, and their wristband will be removed. Patrons who are camping at the event will be permitted to re-enter the premises on Monday 3rd October to collect their belongings.
     

  • The Security staff are there for your safety and to help make sure everyone has a great weekend. There are information and security points throughout the camp ground & EVENT ARENA should you wish to report any issues or concerns. 
     

  • Chopped is No Glass venue
     

  • Gates open 9am Friday. Don’t arrive any earlier, there’s roadblocks in place. Gates close 5:00pm Sunday; you can’t stay the night. Nothing lasts forever.
     

  • Don’t trespass. You’ll be removed from the festival site and charged.
     

  • Please respect our neighbours. The local residents of Newstead, are kind enough to allow us to stage this event each year, so its your duty to pay your respects and look after the township and its residents.
     

  • No reserving campsites.  

​

  • Keep all internal roads clear for emergency vehicles.
     

  • Driving is at Walking Pace only (5km/h).
     

  • Vehicles in the camp grounds must either meet Chopped rules of entry OR be a legally registered vehicle (motorbikes included)

​

  • During the hours 9am-5pm vehicles are to only be moved within Campsite area going to or from the Drag Strip or Show Area.
     

  • Please read the Rules for drag strip and show area entry.
     

  • Strictly NO driving of any vehicle/s not qualified for Drag/Show in campsite areas.
     

  • Fuel, Petrol and other combustibles must be retained in a suitable container, ie: Jerry Can or similar.
     

  • Don’t drive until you are ready to leave. Always check around your vehicle before moving it.
     

  • Victoria Police will be present and performing random breath tests throughout the weekend
     

  • Everything that comes with you goes home again. This includes: tents, couches, bbq’s, wheels etc...
     

  • Keep the site beautiful and use the bins provided. You can get rubbish bags at the information points in the camp grounds.
     

  • Cigarette butts are to be butted out and put in the bin.
     

  • All music at campsites is to be kept at a unoffensive level, allowing all campers to enjoy their time. Loud or offensive tunes at any time in the campgrounds will not be tolerated. This also includes offensive signage, slogans, and clothing. You will be removed from the festival if these rules are not adhered too.
     

  • ANY SEXIST OR RACIST ACTIVITY OR DISPLAY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, IT WILL RESULT IMMEDIATE EXPULSION FROM THE EVENT.
     

  • If you have a chronic condition or illness (eg. asthma, diabetes, epilepsy), please carry information regarding your condition and emergency contact number on you at all times.
     

  • Your ticket is a wristband, keep it on all weekend.
